WAAM Goals

In order to realize our Mission Statement, WAAM has adopted the following goals:

Preserve and enhance a high quality of life in Martin County through active participation in community issues and Martin County Commission actions which affect airport operations, residential, and other areas affected by Witham Field.

Maintain a citizen watch committee to monitor issues related to Witham Field.

Limit and/or curtail future expansion, noise, growth and development of Witham Field.

Seek to enforce existing laws, rules and regulations, and ordinances, and work to achieve the enactment of rules, regulations and ordinances which will control growth and expansion at Witham Field.

Have a strong voice in any future plans or the implementation of existing plans which impact established residential neighborhoods.

The Airport Exploratory Study has been completed, and the options of Moving, Closing and Downsizing have been fully evaluated. WAAM's position is that Moving and Closing Witham Field are not acceptable options and therefore supports neither.

WAAM fully supports the De-federalization and Downsizing of Witham Field.
